The Natural World Before Living Beings
Creation narratives establish an environment before plants and animals. Heaven and earth separate, celestial bodies take position, landscapes form, and weather begins to move between the realms.
Textual and Narrative Context
The Pangu quotation first addresses cosmic space and scale, while transformation material adds celestial bodies, landscapes and weather. Taiyi Sheng Shui presents another sequence linking heaven, earth, yin and yang, and the seasons.
How to Read This Entry
This stage is not an empty gap. Space, light, water, temperature and recurring cycles already exist, although reproduction and human institutions have not entered the account.
Relation to Other Creation Accounts
Chapter Three establishes space and celestial bodies. Chapter Four moves through landscape and weather toward plants and animals. A pre-life stage makes the accumulation of environmental conditions visible.
Comparative Reading
A synthetic reading separates figures, natural features, generative processes and textual dates before tracing their connections.
All things, divine beings, nature and mythic beasts occupy the world before humanity. Light, weather, landforms and living relations already operate, while human origin and cultural institutions remain later questions.
What the Sources Establish
Mythic sequence is not a geological chronology of Earth. Narrative order does not claim correspondence to datable natural history.
